MOSSA Video Assessment Submission

Within 90 days of completing your MOSSA training, you will need to submit a video of yourself teaching the program in a live setting to receive an Assessment Certificate of Completion.

Assessment is the process that MOSSA uses to ensure the programs are being consistently delivered and delivered according to program guidelines. It ensures the quality of the programs for participants, instructors, and facilities.

MOSSA assessments are technical assessments. They assess an instructor's ability to teach a safe workout that is compliant to minimum delivery safety standards. They assess safety of the core (or foundational) moves found in each MOSSA program. Additionally, basic programming, timing, and delivery compliance skills are assessed. MOSSA assessments do not assess those additional skills that are indicative of filling group fitness rooms, such as the ability to coach, connect with, or entertain an audience.

Before submitting your assessment video, take time to evaluate your performance using the Technical Assessment Template & Criteria Sheet for your program.

These are the same resources our Assessment Team uses to evaluate your video; they're essentially the answers to the test! Review all the criteria carefully and make sure your submission meets all the listed requirements before uploading your video.

There are two possible assessment outcomes:

PASS: You have achieved the minimum qualification standards and are eligible to be covered by the MOSSA product liability clause.

To pass assessment, you must pass the required number of tracks as indicated on that program's form. Passing a track requires that no more than a designated number of items are indicated as incorrect. Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability to deliver correct programming and demonstrate the ability to move in time with music. If you receive a "NO" in either of these fields in a track, you will not pass that track.

* For 3D30, a Training Series assessment video must be submitted with 80% of the total assessment criteria met in order to pass.

** For ATHLETE30, a Movement Assessment video must be submitted within 30 days of completing training.

RESUBMIT: You have not passed the required number of tracks and met the minimum qualification standards.

Effective September 1, 2026, you will be charged $25 to submit a second assessment video using the same release within 30 days of receiving your results. If you receive a second RESUBMIT for that program, you will be charged an additional $25 to submit a third assessment video within 30 days for receiving your results. If you receive a third RESUBMIT, you will have to repeat training in person (at half price) to qualify to submit an additional video.

You must complete the video assessment process (submit a video and pass assessment) within one year from completing the training. If the assessment is not complete within one year, you must repeat training (at half price) to be eligible to submit a video for assessment.

You may order up to TWO additional program releases before passing assessment. However, you must be on Autoship and place your order within 90 days of receiving your first release.

Video Submission Requirements & Self-Assessment

The training registration fee paid prior to your live or online training includes one video submission for Assessment.

If you do not PASS your first Assessment, you will need to purchase an additional Assessment submission for $25 through the MOSSA Store before submitting your next video. A $25 purchase is required for each additional submission, up to a maximum of three Assessment attempts.

If you do not PASS your third Assessment, you will be required to repeat an in-person training before you are eligible to submit any additional Assessment videos.

Did you record yourself teaching at a facility licensed to run the MOSSA program being submitted?

What is the actual running time of your recorded workout? (From the start of the workout introduction to the workout outro.) Allowed time is 60 minutes or 30 minutes depending on the format.

Is your video a single, continuous teaching experience?

Is your camera set up to face you directly so movements are clearly seen from the front? Ask your participants to give you space in the middle of the floor for a clear view. (For Group Ride & R30, is your camera set up at a 45 degree angle?)

For ATHLETE30 Training Session Assessment, is the entire room in the camera frame? Use a wide angle or place camera in corner to capture entire room

Did you deliver the workout without using program notes, handwritten notes, or the workout video?

Did you watch your video?

Did you meet the minimum number of participants required for your class (5 participants for all programs; 6 for ATHLETE30), and are you teaching while facing the participants?

Are you and your movements fully visible in the frame, with your head, hands, and feet visible at all times, and does your body fill approximately 80% of the frame?

Are the music and microphone volumes clear and not muffled?

Did you state the track/phase name and track/phase objective for each track?

For the most part, are you moving in time with music?

For the most part, is the programming correct with minimal errors?

3D30 Acknowledgement

For your initial submission, do you have separate video links for both 3D30 and the 3D30 Training Series as required?

Did you use the appropriate equipment in the correct configuration per video (a Step, ViPR)?

In the Recovery Track, did you exit the bike camera side so that all movements can be seen clearly (all foot and leg movements are in the camera view and not blocked by the bike)?

Did you use the appropriate equipment (a step, adjustable barbell, and weight plates)?

Did you use the appropriate program equipment in the correct configuration per video (a step, a towel, and weight plates)?

Did you show one Salutations sequence side-on to the recording device as required?

Did you remove all risers for Track 6, Agility?

Did you use the appropriate and required equipment (a step and adjustable dumbbells)?

For Group Power, do you state all elements of Weight Factor delivery when appropriate?

Are you standing in front of the step when appropriate per video?

MOSSA will not process your Assessment if you are not currently on Autoship for the program for which you are submitting an Assessment.
